Elizabeth Little

Biography


Elizabeth Little was born and raised in St. Louis. She graduated from Harvard College with a degree in social studies and soon thereafter moved to New York City, where she began a career in publishing. After several years as a literary agent's assistant, she began writing and editing full-time. Her work has appeared online and in The New York Times, and her first book, Biting the Wax Tadpole: Confessions of a Language Fanatic, was published in 2007 by Melville House.

Her next book, Trip of the Tongue: Cross-Country Travels in Search of America's Languages, will be published by Bloomsbury in spring 2012.

Her interests include film theory, the politics of representation, and YouTube videos of cats.

Elizabeth lives in Los Angeles with her husband and son. She is currently working on her first novel.
